Dreamspell is a synchronic timing system developed by José Argüelles and Lloydine Argüelles in 1987. It reinterprets the ancient Mayan Tzolkin calendar through a contemporary lens, offering a way to step out of linear, mechanical time and into cyclical, natural time. Unlike the Gregorian calendar—which Argüelles called "the 12:60 frequency" (12 months, 60-minute hours)— Dreamspell operates on the 13:20 frequency: 13 tones × 20 seals = 260 unique days called Kin. The Tzolkin (meaning "count of days" in Yucatec Maya) is the sacred 260-day cycle that forms the heart of Dreamspell. This cycle has been tracked continuously by Maya daykeepers for over 2,500 years without interruption. Think of a Wavespell as a journey: it begins with the Magnetic Tone (setting intention), moves through development and transformation, and culminates with the Cosmic Tone (transcendence).
